Terrible Pictures of a Fantastic Afternoon
Today the kids had "Halloween Gym" during their last two periods. They joined up with some Grade 5
helpers to try out some spooky centres in the gym. My camera's flash
definitely ruined the ambiance (it was so dark and creepy!) but the kids
were really having a blast. The last two photos are from the change
rooms, which were completely pitch black except for flashlights and glow
sticks. Thank you to our new Phys. Ed. teacher, Mme Tease, for setting
up this neat experience. I'd also like to take this opportunity to introduce her to you. She will be here for the rest of the year while Mme Beaudin is on maternity leave. Bienvenue!

Getting Ready for Halloween
Our classroom is spookified, and we are counting down the days until our Halloween party and parade. Here is one of the songs we'll be singing until then.

Rockin' in the Gym
We got to watch a special presenter in the gym yesterday. His name is Roland Baribeau and he is a well-known French musician in Winnipeg. We danced and sang along to his rock songs for an hour. What a treat!

Introducing Our Kindergarten Friends
Wait until you hear the cutest little voices EVER! Here are the afternoon kinders introducing themselves in French. Watch it together with your little one and ask him or her for a live demo of "Je m'appelle____."

I'd also like to take this opportunity to introduce Monsieur Dénis. He is featured at the very end of our video. He is an educational assistant in the school and a big part of his job is doing math support, so he spends a lot of time playing math games with the kindergarten and grade 1 students (individually and in small groups).

Songs We Love
Check out this song that we have been singing in class and ask your child to perform it for you. Be
careful, though. It's very catchy! I guarantee you'll be humming it
all day tomorrow.

Math Centres: Part 2
We started our second round of math centres yesterday. The kids had a
great time practicing their patterns, 'counting on' numbers, playing
number memory, going on a counting hunt, and using magnifying glasses in
our 'I Spy' number game.
